MOMO Radical Cup Scandinavia returned to Falkenberg Motorbana for Race 2 in the Västkustloppet 2024. The race featured exciting battles and strategic moves, keeping fans engaged throughout the 21-lap event.
Stevan Petrovic started from pole position and managed to hold his lead throughout the race, delivering a strong performance to secure a lights-to-flag victory. Marcus Jönsson, who started in third, had an impressive start and quickly moved up to second place in the opening lap. Meanwhile, Johan Leander, who started in second, faced a challenging start and dropped two spots initially. However, he showed resilience and driving skills by fighting back to secure third place by the race’s end.
The early laps saw a tough battle between Leander and Erik Stillman for third place. Leander managed to overtake Stillman on the outside through Sector 1, securing his position. Unfortunately, Lars Myllynen’s car got stuck in the gravel trap after nine laps, prompting the deployment of the safety car.
Petrovic executed a strong restart, maintaining his lead with Jönsson and Leander following closely behind. The battle for fourth place between Stillman and Erlend Juan Olsen was particularly intense, with both drivers previously standing on the podium in Race 1. Ludvig Bäck in sixth place showed impressive pace, keeping clear of the pursuing pack, which included Rasmus Hedberg, Jesper Fristedt, and Gustav Emanuelsson.
In the closing stages of the race, Emanuelsson faced a technical issue, forcing him to stop on track and bringing out another safety car. Petrovic once again managed a perfect restart, securing his victory ahead of Jönsson and Leander. This race marked yet another unique podium combination, continuing the trend seen throughout the season.
