The drivers and teams experienced all four seasons during the MOMO Radical Cup Scandinavia roll-out at Mantorp Park. With low temperatures, stormy winds, and intermittent showers, the teams had the opportunity to test a variety of strategies ahead of the new season, which kicks off on the 4th and 5th of May.
We saw both new and familiar faces adapting to new environments. Erik Stillman (ES Racing) appeared focused and was the first car out when the track opened. Making his comeback to the Radical Cup Scandinavia after a few years of racing prototypes around Europe, the former champion is poised to be a strong contender for the 2024 title. Another familiar face, Gustav Emanuelsson, has switched to Fast Motorsport Scandinavia for the 2024 season and took the opportunity to familiarize himself with his new team. A brand-new participant, Lars Myllenen (Radical Customer Racing), seen in action, will be competing in the PRO SR1 class this season.
Stevan Petrovic ran an extensive program as he took the opportunity to shake down his 2024 SR3 XXR challenger and worked to rediscover the speed that won him the Championship in 2022.
In the end, it was a successful roll-out ahead of the 2024 season opener, which is less than two weeks away. The field looks stronger than ever, featuring three Radical Cup Scandinavia Champions on the grid and seasoned drivers from other categories joining the fray. We can’t wait for the new season to start!
